Record crowd in Solms: CHIEF SPORT rocks the Mittelhessen International Open
Share
The German pickleball community is growing rapidly, and this was impressively demonstrated this weekend in Solms. At the Mittelhessen International Open, nearly 200 enthusiastic players gathered together. For CHIEF SPORT, this mega-event was an absolute milestone: it was the largest pickleball tournament the brand has ever sponsored. A complete success all around!
Experience the brand up close: The CHIEF SPORT stand
To make the brand even better known across Germany and to maintain direct contact with the community, CHIEF SPORT was on-site with its own large stand. The response was overwhelming. An absolute highlight for the participants was the live printing service at the stand: players could have their paddle covers and T-shirts personalized and custom-printed right on the spot. A great initiative that provided many personalized mementos of a fantastic tournament weekend.
Sponsorship to the next level: Prizes for 12 categories
As an up-and-coming brand in the German pickleball scene, it is important for us to give back to the community and acknowledge outstanding athletic achievements. Therefore, CHIEF SPORT went all out at the Mittelhessen International Open: prizes for the top 3 placements were provided for all 12 tournament categories. In addition to high-quality prizes, the winners also received attractive vouchers for the CHIEF SPORT range.
Sporting highlight: Quarter-finals in the highly competitive 4.0+ doubles
Of course, Tim Barro and Nils Lehmann didn't miss the chance to pick up a paddle themselves at this top event. The duo competed in the absolute premier class: the Men's Doubles DUPR 4.0+ category.
The competition in this high-caliber field of participants was extremely strong. After a somewhat mixed group stage, where the two still had to find their rhythm, Tim and Nils demonstrated true fighting spirit. With strong commitment and tactical discipline, they successfully fought their way into the quarter-finals during the knockout phase. There, however, they met extremely strong opponents who simply had the upper hand on the day. Even though that was the end of the road, reaching the quarter-finals in such a heavily contested tournament is an absolutely respectable result.
Conclusion: A gigantic success for the sport of pickleball
The Mittelhessen International Open in Solms was a celebration of the sport of pickleball in Germany. The record number of nearly 200 participants shows the direction in which things are heading. For CHIEF SPORT, the presence on-site, the direct exchange with the athletes, and the extensive sponsorship were a complete success. We are proud to be part of this fantastic development and are already looking forward to the next tournaments!
